WELCOME TO MAIN STREET
The Show
The Main Street Music Show is a live sketch comedy and music show that brings together good-natured humor, original characters, live music, and a healthy dose of small-town weirdness.
Part sketch comedy, part variety show, and part old-fashioned radio program, the show is inspired by the warmth and storytelling of classic Americana while bringing a distinctly modern voice to the stage. Each performance features original sketches, recurring characters, musical performances, and plenty of surprises.
Created and hosted by filmmaker and comedian Jacob Johnston, the Main Street Music Show has been entertaining audiences for years with clean, clever comedy that doesn't rely on shock or cynicism to get a laugh. It's the kind of show where the jokes are silly, the music is live, and everyone in the room is invited to have a good time.
Whether you're a fan of sketch comedy, live music, or just looking for a night of something a little different, welcome to Main Street.
Jacob Johnston
Host/Producer
Jacob is the creator, host, and head writer of the Main Street Music Show, a family-friendly comedy and music program bringing together original sketches, memorable characters, live music, and a healthy dose of Southern charm.
With a background in television and film production, Jacob has spent years writing, producing, directing, and teaching storytelling. He holds an MFA in TV & Film Production from Asbury University and has taught screenwriting and communications at the university level.
The Main Street Music Show grew out of Jacob’s love for classic variety shows, radio comedy, sketch comedy, and live performance. What started as a podcast has grown into a multi-platform show featuring original audio sketches, music, parodies, and live performances.
Jacob writes much of the show's material and works with a talented cast and creative team to bring its characters and stories to life. From eccentric small-town residents to completely unexpected situations, the goal is simple: tell good stories, make people laugh, and create something the whole family can enjoy.
When he's not writing or producing the Main Street Music Show, Jacob teaches, develops new stories and characters, and looks for more opportunities to bring the show to audiences through live performances.
Keep telling good stories.
